Writing Prompt #1

Katie walks down the slush-filled road clutching the hood of her coat closer together. The rain pitter-pattered like hoof beats of a tired horse on the street. Her house was at least another thirty minutes walk away and the dark was following close on her heels. Suddenly a flash of lightning brightened the sky. The rain poured faster, beating down on her, trying to push her to the concrete. Ice would soon set in. She knew she wouldn't be able to walk home with the storm approaching. A house appeared on her left, one she had never noticed before. She hurried up to the door in attempt of safety and rang the doorbell. No answer. She tried the doorknob and it was unlocked.

Finish this story describing what Katie found inside the unknown house.
